I'm going to assume that, as a personal blog post, a more conversational tone is allowed- it gives a bit better insight into my usual writing style, anyways. As a film major, I've been writing for years both as a hobby and for projects and jobs here and there, and have developed a very casual demeanor, so I'll be using that for the majority of this post. And, while a good establishment of my writing style, that intro also served to segue into a description of myself; a film major. I remember back in freshman year of high school when, on a whim, I decided to take Video and Film, an elective offered by the school. I remembered having fun making video projects with my friends in earlier classes, and thought the class could be fun too. That one class turned into what is now going on 7 years studying film, and hopefully many more working in the industry.

It is in pursuit of that major that I took this class, under recommendation from my advisor. At first, I believed 'Digital Media' to be in reference to video- as in, web shorts or other online film works. However upon learning the true curriculum I stand still excited for the course- I've never shied away from any sort of artistic endeavor. I'm eager to become more accustomed to Illustrator- Photoshop I'm a bit more comfortable with already, as I used to use it regularly for drawing before switching to a more available program. And in line with that comes my familiarity with Wacom tablets- however, the ones you said we'd be using in class are a more expensive model than my own, so I'm excited to try one of them out.

All in all, I hope I've expressed a mild familiarity with most of the topics we'll be covering in course- and as far as what I expect to get out of it, I'm always eager to improve my proficiency in any art-related field. To be able to alternate between different mediums is an important ability to me, so any improvement in that is welcome. So I look forward to the course, and I look forward to becoming a better digital artist.
